Description :

SMUD is soliciting proposals for professional design engineering and engineering support services for the New Slab Creek Powerhouse and Boating Flow Release Valve (Project).  The Proposer shall provide all labor, material, and equipment required to perform the Service described as: NEW SLAB CREEK POWERHOUSE OWNER'S ENGINEERING SERVICES.
The work to be performed in this RFP covers professional turnkey engineering and supporting services for the development of the New Slab Creek Powerhouse and Boating Flow Release Valve Facility.  In general, the scope of work for the Owner’s Engineering Services is divided into nine (9) Task Items, as listed below.  
Task 1:	Hydraulic Modeling 
Task 2:	Final Design
Task 3:	Engineer of Record - Opinion of Probable Cost & Schedule
Task 4:  	Equipment Procurement Bid Packages
Task 5:	Construction Bid Packages
Task 6:	Shop Witness Tests
Task 7:	Quality Control Inspection Plan
Task 8:    Engineering Support Services During Construction
Task 9:	Commissioning Support Services
Attachment 1 - Technical Services Specification provides a more detailed description of each Bid Item and associated tasks. The Proposer is responsible to provide a complete description of the deliverables for each bid item in the proposal. 
The Owner’s Engineer shall have the staff capable of meeting SMUD’s specific requirements.  To the extent that the Owner’s Engineer lacks specific expertise regarding any element of this RFP, a professional group of subcontractors and/or associate firms should be assembled to complement the Proposer’s expertise and experience.

Instructions:	A Pre-proposal conference and job walk is scheduled for 4/15/2014 at 10:00AM at the Fresh Pond Facility. The pre-proposal conference will address the RFP submission requirements, scope of services, and administrative requirements. Proposers attending are encouraged to download the RFP and Associated documents and bring them to the pre-proposal conference. Hard copies of the RFP and documents will not be available.
