Description :
The purpose of this IFB is to obtain the services of a qualified contractor to provide an experienced foreman and laborers to assist in the performance of Phase II of the decommissioning of the Interim On-Site Storage Building (IOSB) in accordance with the NRC approved Rancho Seco License Termination Plan (RSLTP). The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to accomplish the work in accordance with the Contract. The laborers will operate tools, equipment and devices (provided by SMUD) necessary to support the Radiation Protection Technicians performing radiological surveys and remediation in the Interim On-Site Storage Building (IOSB), and licensed land area surrounding it within the Rancho Seco Nuclear Station in Herald California. The contractor will be responsible for providing a full time, labor force as defined below. This labor will work primarily in radiological controlled areas, following the guidance of Radiation Protection Personnel for safe radiological work practices. Work objectives will be conveyed by the SMUD Project Manager, and day-to-day work direction will be provided by the Labor/Crafts Foreman. •contractor will provide one (1) Labor/Crafts Foreman, the preferred candidate should be a National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) certified crane operator with significant experience in the safe handling of radioactive waste and safe radiological work practices. The Foreman will be the primary operator of the remote controlled IOSB 25 ton gantry crane, so past experience in the operation of similar equipment is desirable.
