Description :

This Request for Proposal solicits proposals from qualified firms to provide weather forecasting services and cloud seeding over the west slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California on an on-call basis (ie the contractor having persons and equipment standing by 24/7 to respond to seedable storms) during autumn, winter, and spring.  The work shall include releasing silver iodide into the atmosphere from aircraft and/or ground-based seeders to enhance the amount of precipitation.  This in turn increases the amount of runoff available to SMUD’s hydroelectric power plants.
