Description :
SMUD is requesting proposals from providers experienced in supporting the development and collaboration of cross-functional teams in an electric utility environment. The Contractor shall act as facilitator, providing labor, materials and incidentals as required by SMUD to support the Scope of Services, including, but not limited to, the following: •Design and document a repeatable process to develop and drive cross-functional teams to solve long-standing “sticky” problems that stand in the way of effective work flow. o“Sticky” problems are defined as: controversial issues to avoid; the ones nobody wants to deal with. They are normally complex, cross-functional and long-standing • Build the internal capacity of SMUD’s internal consulting resources to lead future Accelerated Improvement projects through: o Documenting the outcomes, steps and approach of each phase of the project o Providing feedback and coaching to identified internal resources o Partnering with the SMUD internal resources on all aspects of the project to ensure understanding and skill so that SMUD staff can replicate Contractor activities in future projects o • Identify all Commercial Delivery team processes, evaluate processes using Lean / Six Sigma (or equivalent) methodologies, quantify the value of changing a process, recommend process changes. SMUD will provide a resource to assist identifying the processes to be included, assist with process mapping, and access to subject matter experts.
