Description :

The purpose of this contract is to supply construction services to modify and maintain hydroelectric power generation assets and facilities including powerhouses, switchyards, water storage and conveyance facilities (i.e. reservoirs, dams, spillways, penstocks, canals), project lands, and other SMUD facilities.  The work performed under this contract will be done at various SMUD Upper American River Project (UARP) locations. 

The intent of these specifications is to describe the work and to provide appropriate pay items.  Some of the items and quantities in the Bid Schedule may not be utilized.  Others may be partially used or exceeded.  No adjustment of unit prices will be made for under-runs or over-runs of the quantities listed in the Bid Schedule.

The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to accomplish the work in accordance with the Contract and Engineers instructions.
 
POTENTIAL WORK REQUIRED TASKS:
The following are examples of potential tasks that may be performed under this contract:
•	Concrete – construct, modify, or repair concrete structures including dams, spillways, penstocks, canals, and building structures.  Demolish concrete structures. Construct concrete foundations/slabs and walls.
•	Miscellaneous Steel – fabricate, modify, or repair miscellaneous steel structures including platforms, stairways, catwalks, handrails, and access gates.
•	Electrical – Install or modify power generation related electrical systems.
•	Mechanical – Install or modify power generation related mechanical systems including fabricating and installing water piping systems.
•	HVAC – Provide and install industrial/commercial HVAC equipment.
•	Fencing – construct, modify, or repair fencing including chain-link fencing.     

The above tasks are only an example of potential work scopes that may be authorized.  SMUD reserves the right to perform any of the above tasks using other Contractors and makes no guarantee of any work authorization.
